It might be hard to believe, but Disney’s Descendants franchise is over a decade old. In fact, it is officially ringing in its 11th birthday with a brand new movie, Descendants: Wicked Wonderland.

The first movie in the franchise, simply called Descendants, premiered in 2015 and was directed and choreographed by High School Musical mastermind Kenny Ortega. Led by Dove Cameron, Sofia Carson, Booboo Stewart, and Cameron Boyce, Descendants followed the magic and mischief of the teenage children of Disney villains Maleficent, the Evil Queen, Jafar, and Cruella de Vil. The formula soon struck DCOM gold, with a sequel and a threequel, also helmed by Ortega, releasing in 2017 and 2019.

In 2024, half a decade after the third movie wrapped, a new generation of villain (and this time also non-villain) offspring revived the saga for Descendants: The Rise of Red with a new creative team. The movie introduced Kylie Cantrall and Malia Baker as its leading stars, portraying Red, the daughter of the Queen of Hearts from Alice in Wonderland, and Chloe Charming, the daughter of Cinderella and Prince Charming.

Fast forward to 2026, and the fifth installment in the main movie saga, Descendants: Wicked Wonderland, a sequel to The Rise of Red, has just hit Disney Channel and Disney+ with Cantrall and Baker reprising their roles and donning the looks for the official premiere.

To celebrate the launch of the latest Descendants ⁠⁠⁠⁠⁠⁠⁠and the franchise’s legacy 11 years in, we are taking a trip down memory lane and reliving all of the red carpet looks the stars of the movies have worn over the years. 2015: Descendants

At the very first Descendants premiere, stars Dove Cameron (who played Mal, daughter of Maleficent), Cameron Boyce (Carlos, son of Cruella de Vil), Booboo Stewart (Jay, son of Jafar) and Sofia Carson (Evie, daughter of the Evil Queen) all went for casual yet elegant ensembles. Cameron and Carson both opted for satin as the center of their outfits while Boyce and Stewart went for burgundy accents. Boyce paid homage to the de Vil legacy with a polka-dotted collar reminiscent of Dalmatian spotting while Stewart went for a full suit in a ruby-esque cerise tone.

The core four were accompanied by older members of the cast, including Wicked star Kristin Chenoweth (who played Maleficent), Maz Jobrani (Jafar), and Dan Payne (King Beast), as well as supporting actors. You can see some of the looks in more detail below:
