Ufotable’s Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba — Infinity Castle has achieved what few anime films ever do: absolute cultural dominance. However, despite the film’s staggering box office success, Infinity Castle won’t be available on any major streaming platform until well into 2026, as the official DemonSlayerUSA X (formerly Twitter) account confirmed that the movie isn’t leaving theaters anytime soon.

The film was released in Japan on July 18, 2025, and in North American theaters on September 12. At the Japanese box office, Infinity Castle shattered every record in sight, grossing over ¥36.41 billion ($245.8 million) worldwide. It’s now Japan’s second-highest-grossing film ever, overtaking Your Name and Spirited Away, and has become the highest-grossing international release in North American history with $128 million.

As per ScreenRant, Crunchyroll and Sony Pictures Entertainment, the film’s theatrical distributors, have confirmed that the movie will remain a theater-exclusive throughout 2025, defying the industry’s usual 45-day-to-streaming window. Netflix’s current deal with Sony Pictures Releasing doesn’t include the Demon Slayer trilogy either, effectively locking the year’s most-watched anime behind a silver screen paywall. So for fans hoping to relive the emotional climax between Tanjiro Kamado (Natsuki Hanae), Nezuko Kamado (Akari Kitō), and Muzan Kibutsuji (Toshihiko Seki), it looks like the wait will stretch into the next fiscal year.
