March is a fickle month, but for the last decade or so, GQ has counted on one constant to get us through it: a new drop from Uniqlo U, as sure a sign as any that spring is coming, and not a moment too soon. It’s right about now that most of us realize how unprepared our closets are for the sunny weather on the horizon, or how much our tastes have changed over the winter. When those inevitable revelations hit, our usual tactic involves turning to the sub-label helmed by Christophe Lemaire and Sara-Lihn Tran for direction—and as of this week, Uniqlo U is back and offering direction aplenty, plus quite a bit more.
The latest release is a tight assortment of springy jackets, crisp button-ups, big ol’ jeans, and some of the best T-shirts you’ll encounter this season, every single one—save for the Utility Parka—clocking in at under a Benjamin. And while the silhouettes always manage to steal the show, it should be mentioned that there’s an all-time dusty-purple colorway permeating throughout the collection, which is plenty welcome and just a little unhinged. (Just a little, though.)
So whether you’re looking to overhaul that spring wardrobe entirely or simply want to give it a proverbial shot in the arm, Uniqlo U is designed for both. Much like the rest of the retailer’s growing roster of sub-labels, though, the whole lot of it tends to sell through pretty quickly, so we rounded up our favorite picks to streamline the process. Keep scrolling to see what we’re sweating or head on over to Uniqlo itself to eyeball the full collection.
