The Red Bulls rarely conceded goals in those matchups and hope to clamp down defensively Saturday night in Harrison, N.J., especially after their most recent MLS home game.

The Red Bulls are 9-0-2 at home against Dallas since May 24, 2006. The first 10 meetings were MLS regular-season games, and last year the Red Bulls earned a penalty kick win in U.S. Open Competition on May 21.

Six of those games were shutouts and New York would certainly welcome a blanking after blowing a pair of two-goal leads and settling for a 4-4 tie against visiting D.C. United two weeks ago. New York (3-4-3, 12 points) followed up its disappointing defensive showing with last Saturday’s 2-0 loss at Cincinnati, when it conceded two goals in the final 10 minutes of the first half and dropped to 1-4-3 after winning their first two matches.

New York also is hoping to improve defensively after allowing three goals off corner kicks during a 3-1 loss to New York City FC in Wednesday’s 3-1 loss in a U.S. Open Cup contest.

“It’s something that we have to continue to work on,” New York coach Michael Bradley said about the defense. “Obviously, the makeup of our team from a physical profile standpoint means that it’s an area where on some nights we’re going to be really challenged.”

Besides trying to get its first road win over the Red Bulls in 20 years, Dallas (3-3-4, 13 points) is attempting to halt a four-match winless skid. Since scoring four goals apiece in consecutive wins over Houston and D.C. United, Dallas has scored four times and gone 0-2-2.

Last Saturday, Dallas took a 2-1 loss at Seattle, marking the fifth time it was held to one goal or fewer. Nolan Norris scored but his goal wasn’t enough after Dallas trailed by two through the opening 30 minutes.

“Obviously disappointed about the result, but I thought we played pretty well, and I think we’re going to regret seeing the couple moments that led to their goals,” Dallas coach Eric Quill said. “Those moments are fixable.”

Dallas forward Petar Musa is tied for the league lead with nine goals, while teenager Julian Hall paces New York with six goals.

When India’s women’s cricket team travelled to South Africa for a bilateral series, the national selection committee had picked Kashvee Gautam as a replacement for all-rounder Amanjot Kaur. However, as the tour progressed, Kashvee too picked up a right knee injury.

On Saturday, when the selectors met to pick the squad for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup, both Kashvee and Amanjot were left out due to injuries.

According to selection committee chair Amita Sharma, Kashvee “will now have to undergo a surgery” as her right knee injury is quite serious, while Amanjot will be out of action for four to five months.

Captain Harmanpreet Kaur admitted that lessons from the South Africa tour—where India struggled in the PowerPlay—will shape their approach going forward.

“PowerPlay is very important. If you are batting, you have to target runs in the PowerPlay. If you are bowling, you have to get a couple of wickets in the PowerPlay. At the same time, once the PowerPlay is set, the game starts. We want to work hard on how we have to go about in the PowerPlay. Secondly, we don’t focus on the middle overs, but they play a very big role. We do have a plan,” Harmanpreet said.

The team will assemble at the BCCI Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru next week for a preparatory camp before departing for England on May 22.

Jacob Misiorowski took a no-hitter into the sixth inning before leaving with a cramp, William Contreras had four hits and the Milwaukee Brewers beat the host Washington Nationals 6-1 on Friday.

Misiorowski came out of the game with a right hamstring cramp after throwing a pitch to James Wood with one out in the sixth. Aaron Ashby came on and carried the no-hit bid into the seventh before Daylen Lile’s one-out bloop double.

Contreras had four hits for the second straight game and drove in three runs. Tyler Black had two doubles for Milwaukee, which has won four of five.

Misiorowski (2-2) was dominant, striking out eight and walking two. He retired the last 12 batters he faced, the final four by strikeout. Misiorowski threw 43 pitches of 100+ mph, the third-most in a game in the pitch-tracking era (2008), according to MLB.com.

After throwing a 98.9 mph swinging strike one to Wood, Misiorowski came off the mound and looked into the dugout. Manager Pat Murphy and the team trainer came out, and Misiorowski left the game.

Three Brewers pitchers combined on a two-hitter. Ashby went 2 2/3 frames and Easton McGee pitched a hitless ninth.

Washington starter Jake Irvin (1-4) gave up four runs (three earned) on six hits over five innings.

The Brewers took a quick 1-0 lead. Garrett Mitchell led off the game with a double, went to third on a groundout and scored on passed ball.

In the third, David Hamilton walked and stole second. Brice Turang walked and Contreras lined a single to center, scoring Hamilton.

With one out in the fifth, Turang and Contreras singled and Jake Bauers walked. Luis Rengifo grounded into a fielder’s choice to score Turang, and Black doubled, bringing home Contreras to make it 4-0.

CJ Abrams walked in the eighth, went to third on Lile’s double and scored on a groundout by Brady House, pulling Washington within 4-1.
