With a career as long and established as Taylor Swift’s, it’s only natural that she’s had a couple of signature hairstyles over the years. Most recently, she’s been rocking her hair in loose waves with her full, voluminous side-swept bangs—a feature as recognizable as her cat-eye and red lipstick. But long before, she was known for her bright blonde ringlet curls. So as rumors of a New York City wedding at Madison Square Garden build anticipation, we can’t help but wonder what hairstyle the singer will wear on her special day.
When Taylor Swift first introduced herself to the world in 2006 with her self-titled album, she appeared on the cover with ringlet curls. The style became her signature look through her Fearless and Speak Now eras. She similarly showed off her blonde curls on those covers, with a hair flip on Fearless and the contrast of a deep purple dress on Speak Now.

But since the 2012 Red album, Swift’s curls have been less prominent. She’s often opted for straight hair, waves, or soft curls, though her tighter tendrils have made a reappearance for a few outings. For the remastered Fearless (Taylor’s Version), she recreated her hair flip with loose waves instead. But when she released the cover art for Speak Now (Taylor’s Version), she did wear her tight curls again. And for her new single for Toy Story 5, she’s been sharing some photos that show her curls, including a baby picture.
In addition to the rumors about her wedding, there have also been musings about Swift’s potential return to country music with the remastered version of her self-titled album on its upcoming 20th anniversary. We know Swift loves a big reveal—she’s announced her new albums at award shows before. So, with her wedding garnering plenty of buzz (to the point that New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani was asked about it), the opportunity is certainly there. If anything, the curls could be a little hint, and we know she loves those. And when it comes to weddings, intricate hairstyles are pretty common. Ringlet curls, even if they’re not as trendy as they used to be, are the perfect addition to updos, so it could be a pretty seamless and subtle way to work them into her look.
While Swift’s wedding plans with fiancé Travis Kelce are tightly under wraps, so there’s no way of knowing what she’ll be wearing as she walks down the aisle, if there’s anything that beats her love of an Easter egg, reference, or call back, it’s Swifties’ love for theories, so we can’t help but wonder!
