One of the best JRPGs of all time is arriving on Xbox Game Pass on June 9, and fans of the genre won’t want to miss the opportunity of playing this masterpiece for free. There are tons of great RPGs available on Microsoft’s subscription service, especially after this year, which saw the addition of titles like Cyberpunk 2077 and The Witcher 3. Final Fantasy 6 just joined Xbox Game Pass, following the addition of one of its predecessors at the start of every month since January.
Now, the service is about to get even better with the arrival of yet another groundbreaking JRPG. A few days ago, Microsoft made a post on the official Xbox Wire website, revealing the first batch of titles being added to Xbox Game Pass in June. In total, there are nine new games arriving, some of which are merely expanding their reach into the Premium tier after being made available for Ultimate, and others are exciting day-one releases. Nevertheless, the most exciting news is the addition of a game released over six years ago.
As part of the Wave 1 June additions to Xbox Game Pass, Persona 5 Royal is becoming available for members to play, starting on June 9. The critically acclaimed JRPG will be playable on consoles (Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S), PC, and via cloud gaming. The title will be made available for members of the Premium, Ultimate, and PC Game Pass tiers, leaving only the Essential tier out of the benefit.
If you are a member of the Essential tier and want to play this RPG, you’ll need to upgrade your membership, even if temporarily. It may be worth it, considering that Persona 5 Royal is one of the absolute best modern JRPGs to play nowadays, and it’s the complete version of the title released in the West in 2017. The Royal version includes all the DLCs, as well as playable characters and an extended story.
This is one of the most appealing titles joining the catalog in June, and you may want to make sure you start playing it on June 9 – not because it will necessarily be removed soon, but because Persona 5 Royal is an incredibly long RPG to beat. It could take you well over 100 hours to finish the game’s main story, and there’s even more gameplay time if you tackle optional side content.
Persona 5 Royal should be on your playlist if you haven’t checked it out before, and those who have played the adventure before may feel enticed to play it again, despite how long it is. That’s just how good this JRPG arriving on Xbox Game Pass really is.
