Apr 6, 2026; San Francisco, California, USA; San Francisco Giants pitcher Ryan Borucki (47) is relieved by San Francisco Giants manager Tony Vitello during the seventh inning against the Philadelphia Phillies at Oracle Park. Mandatory Credit: Bob Kupbens-Imagn Images The San Francisco Giants continue to struggle in the bullpen and will keep looking for answers when they host the Philadelphia Phillies on Tuesday night in the middle game of a three-game series.
The Phillies rallied for a 6-4 win on Monday after reliever Ryan Borucki couldn’t hold the 4-2 lead that starter Adrian Houser handed to the bullpen in the seventh with two runners on base and no one out.
Borucki allowed the inherited runners to score, then gave up two more runs in the loss. He started his appearance by walking Kyle Schwarber.
“I’ve been preparing for that moment the last two days,” the left-hander said. “You can’t start by walking Schwarber on four pitches.”
With Schwarber aboard and the bases loaded with no one out, Bryce Harper singled to right to score Justin Crawford and Trea Turner. Alec Bohm’s double to right scored Schwarber.
“We should have won that game, and I didn’t do my part to get the job done,” Borucki said.
San Francisco is ranked 21st in the majors with a bullpen ERA of 4.93 and an 0-2 record.
The Phillies, on the other hand, saw five scoreless innings from their bullpen in relief of rookie Andrew Painter. The Phillies rank 15th in reliever ERA at 4.17 and have a 2-1 bullpen record.
Tim Mayza, Jonathan Bowlan, Jose Alvarado, Brad Keller and Jhoan Duran surrendered just two hits to close the game.
Philadelphia is expected to add a valuable arm to the roster Tuesday when Orion Kerkering, last seen on blooper reels for his throwing error that ended the Phillies’ 2025 season at the hands of the Los Angeles Dodgers in the postseason, returns from the injured list.
The 25-year-old has been rehabbing a strained hamstring in the minors to start the season, which has given him time to work on a new pitch — a splitter.
“It’s been really good,” Phillies manager Rob Thomson told the media over the weekend after getting a report from Triple-A Lehigh Valley. “It gives the hitter a different look and gets them off the slider a little bit, but it’s got a lot of bottom to it.”
Two veteran lefties will get starting assignments on Tuesday, with the goal of taking as much heat as possible off the bullpen. The Phillies’ Cristopher Sanchez (1-0, 0.79 ERA) will go against the Giants’ Robbie Ray (1-1, 3.38).
Sanchez has pitched in two Philadelphia wins — March 26 over the Texas Rangers, 5-3, and a 6-5 Wednesday against the Washington Nationals, in which he didn’t get a decision.
Over the two games, Sanchez allowed just one run and seven hits in 11 nnings with 17 strikeouts. The 29-year-old has never lost to the Giants, going 2-0 with a 1.46 ERA in five career head-to-heads, including three starts.
Ray will make his 11th career start against Philadelphia, having compiled a 4-2 record and a 5.20 ERA.
The 34-year-old has allowed eight hits, including two home runs, in 10 2/3 innings to open the 2026 season. He lost 3-0 to the New York Yankees on March 27 and followed with a 7-2 win against the Mets last Thursday.

Jun 15, 2025; San Jose, California, USA; United States of America forward Patrick Agyemang (24) reacts after a save was madeon his shot at the goal during the second half during a group stage match of the 2025 Gold Cup at PayPal Park. Mandatory Credit: Robert Edwards-Imagn Images U.S. men’s national team striker Patrick Agyemang will miss this summer’s World Cup due to an Achilles injury.
Agyemang, 25, sustained the injury Monday while playing for Derby County against Stoke City in England. He landed awkwardly after leaping to challenge for the ball and left on a stretcher in the 41st minute of a 2-0 win.
“Everyone at Derby County is fully behind Patrick at this difficult time and will continue to support him every step of the way,” the team said in a news release on Tuesday.
“As a result of this injury, Patrick will unfortunately miss this summer’s FIFA World Cup. At this stage it would be wrong to put a timeline on his recovery.”
Agyemang played in both USMNT friendlies last month in losses against Portugal and Belgium, scoring a goal in the latter. He has recorded six goals in 14 caps for the U.S. since making his debut in January 2025.
His absence from the World Cup is a blow to coach Mauricio Pochettino’s roster, which must be finalized by May 30. The U.S. plays its first game in group play on June 12 at Inglewood, Calif., against Paraguay.
Agyemang will also miss the last five regular-season matches for Derby County, which is currently two spots out of the playoffs in England’s second tier.

Sanju Samson, adjudged Player of the Tournament in the recently concluded T20 World Cup 2026, was traded in by Chennai Super Kings from the Rajasthan Royals ahead of the season in exchange for the duo of Ravindra Jadeja and Sam Curran.
With talismanic wicketkeeper-batter MS Dhoni missing out for the first two weeks of the campaign with a calf strain, Samson looked well set to fill the tactical void. However, he didn’t have the best of starts in the side’s opening game, scoring merely six runs before Nandre Burger of Samson’s former side Rajasthan Royals accounted for his wicket.
Samson’s second challenge will be to go up against a confident-looking Shreyas Iyer’s Punjab Kings.
While this is the first time Samson will be donning the yellow jersey in front of the home crowd at M. A. Chidambaram Stadium, it will be his sixth IPL game at this venue.
Historically, Samson hasn’t had the best of performances with the bat at this ground, averaging merely 11.80 and scoring 59 runs in five games. The overall dot ball percentage is also 38.9 per cent, with bowlers having managed to invite 14.5 false shots every 100 balls played.
His scores paint a sorry picture as well. His highest score in the IPL at this venue has been 26, which came in 2015 during his first stint with RR. Post that, he scored eight runs in 2019, a duck in 2023, and 25 runs spread across two innings in 2024.
Come Friday, CSK fans will hope Chetta’s jinx at Chepauk is finally laid to rest.

Prior to some chalky finishes the last two years at the Master’s, it wasn’t too shocking to see some heavy underdogs walk away with a green jacket. In 2021, Hideki Mastuyama was +5000 to win the tournament, good for 24th best at the start of the week.
Unlike recent years, I don’t love how the golfers at the top of the odds list have been playing. Scottie Scheffler, the world No. 1, is +500 to win, but hasn’t been as dominant in recent tournaments, so I think that opens the board up to some shakeups at the top of the leaderboards. Of course, betting against Scottie the last few years hasn’t been the wisest strategy, but there are some guys with juiced odds to win.
Since leaving for and returning from LIV, Brooks Koepka has not been playing at an elite level; however, he has shown some signs of life over the last month. He’s had three top-20 finishes since the start of March, and will be looking to get one step closer to the career Grand Slam. Anytime you can get a five-time major winner who’s still only 35-years-old at +4000 to win, it’s very solid value.
It’s always great to bet on proven commodities, but another important factor to winning in Augusta is playing well going into the event.
Over the last decade, the Masters has been won seven times by a golfer who has won at least once that season leading up to the event.
Here are the eleven players who have won and will be attending the Masters this week.
Chris Gotterup (x2): +6000
Scottie Scheffler: +500
Justin Rose: +2700
Colin Morikawa: +3500
Jacob Bridgeman: +8000
Nico Echavarría: +25000
Akshay Bhatia: +6500
Cameron Young: +2200
Matt Fitzpatrick: +1800
Gary Woodland: +10000
J.J. Spaun: +7000
Our Current Best Offers
Cam Young and Matt Fitzpatrick are the trendy picks to win this week, and I don’t mind betting on Fitzpatrick, but two other guys on this list really stand out to me.
Chris Gotterup and J.J. Spaun have been playing some great golf recently and are the 11th and 5th-highest-ranked golfers, respectively, in the World Golf Rankings. Spaun has had an up-and-down 2026, but will be entering this weekend coming off his first win of the season. He won the US Open last season, proving he can win under tough conditions, yet he only has the 29th-best odds to win this year? That feels like a solid value play.
Then with Gotterup, he’s been one of the best players in the world in 2026.
He has two wins on tour this year, and another top-10 finish to go along with those wins. He’s 5th in the FedEx point standings, and is probably my favorite bet to win this week at +6000. My only concern with Gotterup is that this is his first Master’s appearance, and no player has won their first appearance since Fuzzy Zoeller in 1979.

Naoba Meitei’s dramatic stoppage-time strike helped Rajasthan United FC edge Gokulam Kerala FC 1-0 in the Indian Football League (IFL) 2025-26 at the Vidhyadhar Nagar Stadium in Jaipur on Tuesday.
After a goalless contest for over 100 minutes, Meitei broke the deadlock deep into injury time to secure three points for the host, which moved up to second in the table with 14 points, while Gokulam Kerala FC remained seventh with eight points. Meitei was adjudged Man of the Match.
The visitor started brightly, with Thabiso Nelson Brown testing Rajasthan captain and keeper Bhabindra Malla Thakuri early on, while Gokulam controlled possession in the opening exchanges without creating clear-cut chances.
The Desert Warriors came closest to scoring just before half-time with a flurry of chances in added time. Soukouna struck the crossbar, Thomyo L. Shimray’s header was saved, and Fernandes’ acrobatic effort was also denied by an alert Shibinraj, as the first half ended goalless.
With the match heading towards a draw, Rajasthan finally found the winner in the 101st minute. Naoba Meitei cut in from the left and unleashed a right-footed strike towards the near post, catching the goalkeeper off guard to seal a dramatic victory.
Despite Gokulam pushing forward in the closing moments, Rajasthan held firm to secure a hard-fought win in an intense encounter.
Goals from Marcus Joseph, Kapil Hoble and Richmond Kwasi Owusu helped Dempo SC register its first win of the Indian Football League season, a comfortable 3-0 triumph against Shillong Lajong FC at the PJN Stadium in Goa on Tuesday.
Shillong Lajong enjoyed majority of possession throughout the game but struggled to convert it into clear chances, as Dempo maintained a disciplined defensive shape. The result marked Dempo SC’s first win of the season, taking them to six points, while Birendra Thapa’s side remained fourth with 11 points.

Off to a tepid start here, though not quite as slow as some of my fantasy baseball players.
Hey Padres; Drake Baldwin, Shea Langeliers and Chase DeLauter all have as many homers (five) as your whole team does, and two of them are Catchers! At least you are better than the Giants, who have combined for just four.
Anyways, lets get back on track with today’s MLB Picks
Season Record 2-5-1, -3.47 Units
Freddy Peralta Over 15.5 Outs Recorded (-120 bet365)
I will be at today’s game, which got bumped up 3 hours to a 4:10 p.m. start on account of the temps dropping down into the 30’s tonight. I don’t remember the Mets ever doing that before but will take it! Anyways, it’s a matchup of team aces as Peralta takes on Zach Gallen. More relevantly for us, he faces an Arizona offense that has not found its stride yet. They’ve slashed an anemic .211/.271/.367 teamwide, fourth worst in MLB. The only thing they have done well actually helps our cause here, and that is that their 20.5% K% ranks 6th best in the league. Corbin Carroll with a 186 wRC+ is their only regular off to a good start, unless you can’t rookie Jose Fernandez who went 3-4 with 2 homers in his first major league game last week, but is 1-12 since then.
Peralta has looked good through two starts with a misleading 4.35 ERA as he has a 2.44 xERA and 2.09 SIERA. Best of all, he’s walked just 2 batters. He does not have a history of pitching terribly deep in games, which is why we get a low outs total today. He went right to this number in his last outing as he made it one to out into the sixth.
Our Current Best Offers
Cam Schlittler Over 6.5 K’s (+114 FanDuel)
The Yankees are home too today, but have chosen to keep the game at night. It must be warmer in the Bronx than in Queens.
Anyways, I tried to attack the Swingin’ and Missin’ A’s with a K prop with a bad pitcher last week (Cristian Javier), let’s take another stab with a good one. The Athletic Baseball Club of Sacramento still leads MLB with a 29.6% K%. Meanwhile Schlittler has looked fantastic, with 15 punch outs in 11.1 IP over his first two starts. The next earned run he yields will be his first. The A’s offense did wake up a bit as they returned to their hitters paradise or a home ballpark last weekend. But I think there’s a good chance they struggle again as they head into the cold vs. a developing star pitcher.
