Apr 11, 2026; Augusta, Georgia, USA; Cameron Young chips onto the sixth green during the third round of the Masters Tournament at Augusta National Golf Club. Mandatory Credit: Bill Streicher-Imagn Images AUGUSTA, Ga. — Cameron Young saw Scottie Scheffler post a 65 earlier in Saturday’s third round of the Masters, and then went out and matched the World’s No. 1 player to surge into the lead at Augusta National.
Young’s 7-under-par effort was his best in 15 career Masters rounds by two shots, and helped him erase the eight-shot deficit he began the day with behind 36-hole leader Rory McIlroy. He reached the clubhouse at 11 under for the tournament with McIlroy still on the course.
Young, whose biggest career victory to date came at The Players Championship last month, birdied four of his first eight holes on Saturday to make his turn in 4-under 32. He then birdied the difficult 10th hole and closed McIlroy’s lead to two shots with another on the 13th hole.
Playing five groups behind Young, McIlroy made his turn at even par as one of only two players in the top 20 not under par for the day. He fixed that with a birdie on the 10th hole, only to bogey the first two legs of “Amen Corner.”
Meanwhile, Young reached 11 under with a birdie at No. 14 to tie for the lead for the first time. After dropping a shot at the par-5 15th, he quickly picked it back up with a birdie on the par-3 16th that gave Young his first outright lead of the tournament.
Making his fifth Masters appearance, Young appeared in jeopardy of not even being around for the weekend after beginning his tournament with four bogeys through his first seven holes. He was still at 4 over through 11 holes on Thursday.
That’s when Young lit a spark with consecutive birdies on Amen Corner to turn his tournament around. He is now 15 under over his past 43 holes. Before Friday’s 67, Young had only broken 70 once previously at Augusta National.

Eventually, there will be no need for a safety officer or any human behind the wheel at all – mirroring the autonomous vehicles (AVs) already operating in cities such as Beijing, Shenzhen, San Francisco and Los Angeles.
For now, Singapore is in the early stages of rolling out AVs, specifically robotaxis, to the public.
Jeffrey Siow, the acting transport minister, said last September that the country aimed to have around 100 to 150 of these vehicles on the road by the end of this year.
Major ride-hailing companies Grab and ComfortDelGro were given the green light to collaborate with leading Chinese AV manufacturers WeRide and Pony.ai, respectively, to test and deploy shuttle taxi services on public roads in Punggol.

Chinese AV companies are industry leaders, experts say, and are keen to show that their vehicles can operate in international markets – despite profitability concerns, as most are still in the start-up phase and rely heavily on investments.

It was a week of resurrection for Lucknow Super Giants in the IPL during the Easter season. The Super Giants registered back-to-back comeback wins after beginning its campaign with a loss to Delhi Capitals at home.
After winning two away matches against Sunrisers Hyderabad and Koltaka Knight Riders, Lucknow Super Giants hosts Gujarat Titans at the Ekana Cricket Stadium on Sunday and will look to extend its newfound resurgence.
However, the Ekana is far from a fortress for LSG, which won only two home matches last season. LSG will look to flip the script this time around.
LSG’s explosive batting lineup is yet to fire at full throttle. Openers Mitchell Marsh and Aiden Markram haven’t been able to convert their starts while Nicholas Pooran is still searching for a big score this season.
It was individual brilliance of Rishabh Pant and rookie Mukul Choudhary that saw LSG pull off wins in the previous two matches.

Skipper Pant will look for a collective effort from his side against Gujarat Titans. The in-form Mohammed Shami also needs a little more support. Prince Yadav has oscillated between brilliance and mediocrity. The spinners, Digvesh Rathi and M. Siddharth, have bowled with control in the middle overs and will relish the slow surface at the venue.
The Titans, too, are searching for consistency and come to this match on the back of a thrilling win against Delhi Capitals. They have raked up 200 plus scores in previous two matches. The Titans possess batting firepower to dismantle any bowling attack and it remains its strength. However, Titans’ bowling has been erratic. Rashid Khan’s return to form augurs well for Titans and he will hold the key in the match between two resurgent sides.
