Chet Holmgren scored 21 points in less than three quarters to lift the Oklahoma City Thunder a step closer to clinching the No. 1 seed in the Western Conference with a 146-111 home win over the Utah Jazz on Sunday.
With four games to play, the Thunder moved three games ahead of San Antonio. Oklahoma City’s magic number to clinch the West’s top spot for the third consecutive season is two.
Oklahoma City (62-16) has won five consecutive games and 17 of its last 18.
The Jazz (21-57) have dropped eight consecutive games, their longest skid of the season.
Any thought the Thunder would take the Jazz lightly in between games against the Lakers went out the window quickly with a 25-9 run over a six-minute span in the first quarter.
Oklahoma City went 10 for 13 from the field to start the game, including a pair of 3-pointers from Holmgren.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander scored 10 of the Thunder’s 40 first-quarter points and had four assists, three rebounds and a steal in the opening quarter.
He finished with 20 points – his NBA-record 138th consecutive game with 20 points or more. – on 7-of-10 shooting.
Jalen Williams had 15 points and seven assists against his brother Cody’s team while Luguentz Dort continued his late-season shooting surge, going 5 of 7 with 13 points.
Oklahoma City finished with a season-high 40 assists.
Ajay Mitchell joined Gilgeous-Alexander and Williams with seven assists for the Thunder.
With the Thunder up by 31 with just more than five minutes remaining in the third, coach Mark Daigneault removed all five of his starters.
The Jazz quickly responded with a 12-2 run stopped by Jaylin Williams’ 3-pointer. The Jazz went scoreless for nearly three minutes to end the third as the Thunder kept Utah from climbing back into the game.
Brice Sensabaugh led the Jazz with 34 points. Kyle Filipowski added 20 and Svi Mykhailiuk scored 17.
Oklahoma City, which swept the four-game season series against Utah, has won its last two games by an average of 39 points.
The Thunder’s top two scoring performances of the season have come against the Jazz.

The second half was more of the same, with Westwood’s substitutes Ajsal and Ebindas giving a slight boost but not enough to warrant a goal. SCD coach Tchorz, meanwhile, chose to stick with his playing 11 till the 90th minute, and they repaid his trust with a convincing defensive showing.
Aiban’s sending off made things worse for the visitor, leaving gaps open in the back which allowed Babovic to double SCD’s lead in added time.
SCD will take all three points with open arms to create a gap between it and the relegation spot, while KBFC’s is still searching for its first win of the season.

Dallas Fuel wrapped up a perfect regular season while Spacestation Gaming, Team Liquid and LuneX Gaming also qualified for the regional playoffs following Sunday’s action at the Overwatch Champions Series 2026 — North America Stage 1.
The Fuel swept Extinction 3-0, while Spacestation locked up second in the standings by beating Team Liquid 3-1. LuneX also prevailed 3-1 over Disguised. Extinction and Disguised were eliminated from the competition.
The Overwatch 2 online competition, with a prize pool of $75,000, features six teams playing a regular season with a round-robin format that concluded Sunday. All matches are first-to-three.
The top four teams advanced to the regional playoffs, which run April 10-12 and feature a double-elimination bracket. All matches are first-to-three except for the grand final, which is first-to-four.
On Sunday, Dallas blanked Extinction 2-0 on Busan Control, then prevailed 3-2 on Numbani Hybrid and 3-0 on Suravasa Flashpoint.
Spacestation, which lost 3-2 to the Fuel on Saturday, finished the round robin with a victory over every other team. They topped Team Liquid 2-1 on Lijiang Tower Control and 3-2 on Aatlis Flashpoint before Liquid avoided a shutout by winning Runasapi Push 143.57m-95.43m. Lauren Coughlin went wire-to-wire and captured the inaugural Aramco Championship on Sunday in Las Vegas for her first win on the LPGA Tour since 2024.
Coughlin fired an even-par 72 for her final round on the difficult Shadow Creek Golf Course layout and finished with a 7-under-par total of 281, five shots clear of Nelly Korda and Ireland’s Leona Maguire.
One year ago, Coughlin lost the championship match to Madalene Sagstrom when the LPGA held the T-Mobile Match Play at Shadow Creek.
“I just know I played really, really great all week,” Coughlin said. “Had a lot of fun. I’m just happy. You know, definitely left a sour taste in my mouth last year not getting the W given how well I played all week, so makes it extra special this week.”
Coughlin opened with a 5-under 67 and shared the lead with Japan’s Nasa Hataoka and Miyu Yamashita. She shot Friday’s low round of 69 in windy conditions and took a five-stroke lead, but Korda sliced three shots off the advantage and trailed by only two strokes heading into the final round.
Coughlin made an early statement on Sunday, birdieing the par-4 first hole. There was a two-shot swing on the par-3 eighth, with Coughlin recording a birdie and Korda posting bogey, opening up an insurmountable six-shot lead.
But she did not allow herself to think of victory until her final wedge shot from the 18th fairway.
“Probably after I hit that wedge shot on 18 into it. I was like, all right, I think I got it now,” she said.
Korda birdied the final hole, her only birdie of the round as she shot a 3-over 75. Maguire posted a final-round 71.
“I just didn’t play good golf today,” Korda said. “I was hitting it pretty poorly off the tee and just finding myself in really tough positions going into the greens, and then hitting it in places where I shouldn’t be around the greens.
“… Props to Lauren. She played some unbelievable golf. It was really fun to see today and it was fun to play alongside her.”
Yamashita was the only other player to finish the week under par in the firm desert conditions, taking solo fourth place at 1 under after Sunday’s 74. Japan’s Akie Iwai and Australia’s Karis Davidson tied for fifth at even-par 288.
Coughlin won her first two LPGA titles in 2024, capturing the CPKC Women’s Open and the Women’s Scottish Open, but went winless in 2025.
With KKR looking to bolster its pace resources, clarity on Green’s availability as a full-fledged all-round option could be crucial in shaping the team’s balance in the coming matches.

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) has been in constant touch with Cricket Australia to determine when Cameron Green will be cleared to resume bowling duties in the Indian Premier League. The all-rounder, returning from injury, has been gradually building his workload under supervision, with the franchise keen to ensure his comeback is managed carefully.
“Cameron has been bowling well, tracking his rehab and working towards being ready to bowl in games. We are in regular contact with Cricket Australia, and I’m sure we’ll see him bowling soon,” said KKR bowling coach Tim Southee.
Green has spent considerable time bowling at the nets over the past few days, but the team management is wary of rushing him back prematurely. “You can’t suddenly expect him to bowl in a game. That’s why he has been putting in the work at the nets to build match fitness,” Southee added.
