The Justice League is probably the most powerful collective of superheroes in all of comics. Even ignoring the magic users, there are heroes who can break the laws of physics with ease. One such hero just became even more overpowered thanks to a new superhuman ability.

This new power was explored in The Flash #32 by Ryan North and Gavin Guidry. The previous issue found Wally West experiencing apparent hallucinations while connected to the Speed Force. However, he quickly realized that what he thought were mirages are truly precognitive visions of the future.

Why The Flash’s new power isn’t fool-proof

Wally discusses the new power with his wife, Linda, outlining what he’s figured out. The “Flashes of Insight” (as he and only he calls them) are seemingly random and Wally can’t figure out what, if anything, triggers them. The Justice League mainstay also has no ability to make the visions trigger on demand.

Despite these limits, the new ability does help The Flash with his current problem. A content generator in Central City is paying people for the best footage of The Flash rescuing people. This leads to a rash of people putting themselves at risk in increasingly silly fashions for the sake of going viral. It also leads to Wally being run ragged trying to save everyone from themselves, as he refuses to call the Justice League in fearing that would make things worse.

This ongoing issue reveals another flaw to The Flash’s new power. Namely, there’s no set time between when he has the vision and when the vision happens. Wally can’t tell what is happening immediately or what is happening later. This leaves him backtracking a lot once he has a vision, buying time until the vision is about to play out. Additionally, he wastes a lot of time searching for the locations of some visions, such as one woman mixing dangerous chemicals in her bathroom.
