Aioli You Need Is Love

Aioli You Need Is Love

We have a new guy starting this week in the kitchen. The manager is explaining to him some of the quirks that exist between front of house and back of house.

Manager: *Looking at a ticket coming in.* “Okay, see this order? Read the note.”

New Guy: “Please make with love.”

Manager: “Let me show you where we keep the love.”

Confused, the new guy follows the manager over to the sous chef, who is working with some aioli.

Manager: “Extra love, please.”

The sous chef nods, takes some aioli to the side, and dilutes it. The manager then takes a clean plate and… splooges the diluted aioli onto it, making a complete mess of it.

New Guy: “What’s happening?”

Manager: “This is how we always make things that are requested to be made with love. Front of house have a new guy starting this week, too. They’re telling him how mean us chefs are and that you have to ask for everything to be made with extra love or we won’t make it.”

The manager gestures to the plate.

Manager: “Please bring him out this… monstrosity.”

Our new guy bought out the plate to the other new guy, both looking so confused. Pretty mild as far as hazing rituals go, but it helped them both settle in together and gave them a cute story to tell.

Manager: *To both of them.* “Remember, we only make things here with spite. Anything requested with love is a prank, and you know where to find it now.”
