Netflix has unveiled the first look teaser trailer for a survival thriller titled Apex, the latest by adventure filmmaker Baltasar Kormakur (of The Deep, 2 Guns, Everest, The Oath, Adrift, Beast). When an adrenaline junkie sets out to conquer a menacing river, she discovers that nature isn’t the only thing out for blood. Netflix has this set for streaming debut in April 2026 – skipping theaters entirely unfortunately. A woman testing her limits in the Australian wilderness is suddenly ensnared in a deadly game with a “ruthless predator” – clearly this angry man out to get her. Starring Charlize Theron, Taron Egerton, and Oz’s favorite Eric Bana. Shot on location in Australia in the real outdoors including in rivers. “Working in the rugged, beautiful terrains of Australia with 3 of the world’s most talented, dedicated actors is such a joy — even as I put them through the [ringer] in this unique survivor story,” Kormakur says.
