“The Box is the most powerful thing ever created. Apple TV has revealed their official trailer for Season 2 of their other hit sci-fi series Dark Matter, a mysterious dark thriller about alternate realities. Adapted from Black Couch’s book of the same name, Dark Matter first premiered as a streaming series in 2024. Season 2 is finished & ready to view starting in August this year. A physicist in Chicago is warped into an alternate version of his life, leaving him to fight to return to his life to prevent the alternate version of himself from taking over his family. “Infinite worlds. Endless dangers.” Season 2 continues with the Dessens as they settle into a quiet life in a world that finally seems safe, until unimaginable forces them to run once again… More intriguing mysteries about The Box and all these other universes. Joel Edgerton & Jennifer Connelly return as Jason & Daniela Dessen, with Oakes Fegley as their son, Alice Braga, Jimmi Simpson, Dayo Okeniyi, and Amanda Brugel. Season 2 picks up with the Dessens as they settle into a quiet life in a world that finally seems safe, until the unimaginable forces them to run once again. As Jason’s (Edgerton) obsession with the Box deepens, Daniela’s (Connelly) growing paranoia pushes her to the brink, and their son Charlie (Oakes Fegley) lives for a sense of stability as their family is threatened. Elsewhere, Amanda (Alice Braga) and Ryan (Jimmi Simpson) join up in a desperate attempt to find their way home. With Blair (Amanda Brugel) determined to stop him, Leighton (Dayo Okeniyi) relentlessly chases his epic grand vision of creating a perfect world.

Dark Matter is a sci-fi mystery series created and showrun by author Blake Crouch, who also created & wrote the TV series “Wayward Pines” & “Good Behavior” previously, and a few other novels.
