In the wake of its premiere on Stephen Colbert’s “Late Show,” Universal Pictures has now debuted the full-length trailer for Christopher Nolan’s “The Odyssey”.

It follows on from a ‘year before’ teaser back in July, a 5.5-minute prologue on IMAX screenings of “Avatar: Fire and Ash,” and the teaser trailer released online in December.

The film tells the story of Odysseus, King of Ithaca, and his perilous journey home after the Trojan War, exploring themes of heroism, loyalty, cunning, and the struggle against divine will.

It includes iconic episodes like his encounters with the Cyclops Polyphemus, the Sirens, and the witch-goddess Circe, culminating in his reunion with his wife, Penelope.

Matt Damon, Tom Holland, Anne Hathaway, Zendaya, Robert Pattinson, Lupita Nyong’o, Charlize Theron, Benny Safdie, Elliot Page, John Leguizamo, Himesh Patel, Bill Irwin, Jon Bernthal, Mia Goth and Corey Hawkins co-star.

Nolan shot over two million feet of film across a 91-day shoot using a whole new IMAX technology – the first major studio feature to be shot entirely in the format.

Said to clock in at under three hours, “The Odyssey” will be released in cinemas on July 17th 2026.
