Funny Trailer #3 for Cat Virus Anime Series ‘Nyaight of the Living Cat’

It’s as if the world is being swallowed up by cats!” Crunchyroll has revealed a third trailer for their funky, hilarious anime series called Nyaight of the Living Cat, which will be streaming worldwide starting on July 6th this summer. A mysterious virus turns humans who touch cats into felines, causing a “Nyandemic” worldwide catastrophe where people transform into cats. This hilarious new anime series is executive directed by Takashi Miike, and directed by Tomohiro Kamitani. And it looks like tons of cute and cuddly fun. Run! The adorable cats are here to snuggle with you! In 20XX, the world is dominated by cats. A virus which turns anyone who touches a cat into a cat has spread into a worldwide nyandemic. Cats rub against people, turning them into cats. Can humanity fight their urge to pet cats to survive in this cat-ridden world? The Japanese voice cast includes Masaaki Mizunaka, Reina Ueda, Reiji Kawashima, Yu Serizawa, Subaru Kimura, Yoshiki Nakajima, and others. The more footage they show for this anime, the funnier it looks! 😹 Cat mania – they’re taking over the world! Everyone is afraid of them, but they also can’t resist their charm either. Ha ha. I will definitely be watching this series whenever it debuts. Who else?

With filmmaker Takashi Miike (of Ichi the Killer; Audition; 13 Assassins) as Executive Director. The screenplay is by Shingo Irie (Orb: On the Movements of the Earth; Golden Kamuy Season 1). Based on the popular manga series “Night of the Living Cat” written by Hawkman and illustrated by Mecha-Roots. 😹 Crunchyroll will debut the Nyaight of the Living Cat anime series streaming on Crunchyroll in the US starting on July 6th 2025 this summer.
