A high school principal in Oklahoma is being hailed a hero after charging at an armed former student and disarming him in a dramatic confrontation that was captured on video.

Kirk Moore, principal of Pauls Valley High School, was shot in the leg as he bravely intervened to stop a gunman who had entered the school with deadly intent.

Authorities identified the suspect as Victor Hawkins, a 20-year-old former student who allegedly told investigators he wanted to carry out an attack “like the Columbine shooters did,” referencing the infamous Columbine High School massacre.
