There are so many free games on Steam, in fact, that it can be more than a little daunting. Where exactly is the best place to start? Which games deserve your attention while your backlog continues to grow and screams for mercy? At the time of writing, you have four days to download and keep the 2024 game 8AM forever. The game is officially 100 percent off until April 27, so move fast and add it to your library before it goes back up to full price.

Developed by David Gallardo, 8AM is described as “a suspense game where you find yourself trapped in a room, watching a family through cameras. Without explanations, you must decide if strange events occur night after night. Being correct extends the time, seeking your release by 8:00 a.m.”

Since its initial release in 2024, 8AM has garnered very positive reviews on Steam, with an overall rating of 81 percent based on over 100 user reviews.

One review reads: “I do love anomaly/hidden object games, some of which are horror and some of which are more cute and cosy. This is not particularly scary or unsettling but I enjoy it nonetheless and have purchased the other games in the series too.”
