In a horrifying accident that has shocked viewers around the world, an 18-year-old woman was violently whipped around in the air like a rag doll after her arm and clothing became trapped in a powerful sugar cane juicing machine on a busy street in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

The graphic surveillance footage, which has gone viral on social media, shows the young vendor – identified as V.N.Y from the northern province of Ninh Bình working at her stall when disaster struck around 11:30 am on May 22.

As she fed sugar cane into the mechanical press, her right arm and reportedly part of her clothing was suddenly sucked into the spinning rollers. In a matter of horrifying seconds, the force of the machine lifted her clean off the ground, spinning her body wildly through the air, not once, but multiple times in a sickening display caught on camera.

Bystanders, including a quick-thinking customer, rushed to her aid, desperately switching off the machine to free the terrified young woman as the stall itself was knocked over in the chaos. Shocking images from the scene show the metal juicer toppled onto its side amid scattered debris.

The victim suffered serious injuries, including fractures to her arm and nasal bone, and was rushed to Bình Dương General Hospital for urgent treatment, where she remains under medical care.

Heartbreakingly, the young woman, who was simply trying to earn a living selling the popular refreshing drink on the streets of Vietnam’s largest city, has become the latest victim of these notoriously dangerous machines, which have been linked to numerous similar accidents in the past.
