A heavily intoxicated Korean-American man in his 30s went on a violent rampage early Sunday morning in Pyeongtaek, South Korea, punching a U.S. soldier unconscious, attacking another, and threatening their female companion, before unleashing an unhinged rant during his arrest that’s now blowing up online.
The suspect, identified in some reports as social media influencer Stone Park, was booked on assault charges after the 6 a.m. attack on June 21 in Sinjang-dong, a neighborhood right next to Osan Air Base. Police say he had no prior relationship with the two U.S. Forces Korea servicemen in their 20s.
According to investigators, the heavy-set American, who has lived in South Korea for years, flew into a rage when the soldiers allegedly ignored him and swore at him. He punched one victim square in the face, sending the young soldier sprawling unconscious on the street. He then kicked and shoved the second soldier and threatened the woman who was with them.
Shocking video of the assault quickly spread on social media, showing the chaotic street brawl.
But it was the footage of his arrest that really went nuclear.
In the viral clip, the suspect, sporting flashy jewelry, heavy tattoos, facial piercings, and a wild look, is seen on the ground flashing thick stacks of Korean won bills while Korean police try to control him. He screams about discrimination, repeatedly drops the N-word, and declares, “I’m the Korean George Floyd, n*gga!”
The bizarre meltdown continued as officers cuffed him and loaded him into a patrol car. Witnesses and online viewers were stunned by the over-the-top display.
Police responded to reports from bystanders and took the man into custody at the scene. He was booked without detention pending further investigation, authorities said.
The suspect later told investigators he attacked because he felt disrespected by the strangers. No other motive has been released.
