Just who will play the next James Bond in the new movie is unknown as of now. But one actor who has been in contention, Louis Partridge, makes a ton of sense.

Partridge’s name has been floated to play Bond for some time now. Speaking to Variety recently, Partridge was asked what he thought about his name being floated as one of the contenders. The young actor said he’d never imagined it possible. However, his inclusion is not only an interesting one, but a major gamble that Amazon could take that offers some big payoffs.

For starters, Partridge fits the bill from a looks department. Bond has traditionally been a handsome man, and as a handsome young actor himself, Partridge fits the most basic of opportunities to play the role. In more important areas, though, Partridge also shines. The actor, 23, would be one of the younger actors chosen to play the role, but this would have a ton of upside for Amazon in the long run.

While Partridge is much younger compared to other contenders like Jacob Elordi (28), Callum Turner (36), and Harry Dickinson (29), he offers up a ton of upside in the long run. Should Partridge be chosen in the role, he would hypothetically be able to sign onto a ton of future movies, something Amazon has already said it is looking for when it comes to the next Bond. Compared to some of his other competitors, Partridge could sign on for an extra 1-2 movies, which would allow him to be Bond for much longer.

Partridge’s resume is another huge plus for him. Amazon is rumored to be looking for a relatively young and newcomer actor, and some other stars in the running are already extremely famous. Locking in Partridge as the Bond of the future not only ensures that you have a Bond for the future, but also one that will grow in popularity over time, versus having someone hyper famous that might be more in demand when it comes to other projects.
