Slogans Made Certain Snacks Stand Out
There’s no doubt that snack slogans helped businesses thrive. Just think about how you know what to expect when you open a packet of Pringles. Now, sure, that slogan has changed over the years. “Once you pop, you can’t stop!” was a good one, but it didn’t quite have the snap that its updated version would later have. It’s no wonder Pringles eventually changed it to, “Once you pop, the fun don’t stop.”
Slogans make a message stand out, such as with the Twix slogan. In the ‘90s, there was a reminder that you always get two biscuits in one packet thanks to the “Two for me, none for you” message. Like with Pringles, there were some variations, one of those reminding people that it’s not just a biscuit. Thanks to the chocolate and caramel, the “It’s all in the mix” slogan also stood out.
If anyone says to you “Have a break…” what do you think of next? It’s natural to think of Kit Kats, and not just because of the latest theft that led to huge hilarious marketing campaigns from businesses around the world.
When you think of the snacks that are still around now, it’s because they had messages that stuck with us as children. We crave the nostalgia now.
And while some of the slogans have adapted, there are others that have remained the same. Skittles continues with the “Taste the rainbow” message to highlight the different flavors that you can enjoy at the same time. We’ve just mentioned Kit-Kat, and even Goldfish has used the “The snack that smiles back” for the longest time. Lay’s potato chips has opted for “Betcha can’t eat just one” since the 1960s, proving that time doesn’t make something old. It’s just timeless!
