The makers of Aakhri Sawal have officially announced the film’s new release date after resolving recent certification delays with the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). Headlined by Sanjay Dutt, the film is now slated for a grand theatrical release on May 15, 2026. Along with confirming the release date, the team also unveiled a new poster featuring the ensemble cast and announced that the much-awaited trailer of the film will be launched tomorrow.

The teaser had sparked widespread discussion online for its intense tone and references to historical events.
However, the film recently encountered hurdles during the CBFC review process, leading to uncertainty around both its release schedule and promotional campaign. The certification delay reportedly put the trailer launch plans on hold while the makers awaited official clearance.
Now, with the censor process completed and the film receiving the green signal, the production team has resumed its promotional rollout. Sharing the latest poster on social media, the makers wrote, “Tomorrow, the nation will witness the truth. The wait is over — the most awaited trailer drops tomorrow. #AakhriSawal Trailer out tomorrow Get ready to know the answer on 15th May only in cinemas.”
Apart from Sanjay Dutt, the film also stars Namashi Chakraborty, Tridha Choudhury, Amit Sadh, Neetu Chandra and Sameera Reddy in pivotal roles. The project has been directed by National Award-winning filmmaker Abhijeet Mohan Warang and written by Utkarsh Naithani, who has handled the story, screenplay and dialogues.
Presented by Nikhil Nanda, the film is produced by Nikhil Nanda and Sanjay Dutt, with Puneet Nanda, Dr. Deepak Singh, Gaurav Dubey and Ujjwal Anand serving as co-producers. Aakhri Sawal will release in Hindi, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam, aiming for a wide pan-India theatrical reach.
With the CBFC hurdle now behind it and the trailer launch set for tomorrow, the film’s promotional campaign is expected to intensify in the coming days ahead of its May 15 release.
