We open for brunch at 10 AM, which means we come in at 9 AM to set up. We have a covered patio and things that go outside (signs and a dog bowl, stuff like that), so I have to unlock the door to set up the front.
Early bird customers love watching me sweep or move things or whatever, not in uniform yet, clearly prepping, while walking into the restaurant.
Me: “Ma’am, we are not open for another twenty-five minutes. Please come back then!”
Customer: “No, I think I’ll wait.”
Cue them standing at the d*** door waiting and staring. After ten minutes of huffing:
Customer: “Ugh, you’re here, I’m here. Can’t I just get a drink now?”
Me: *Pointing to the dog bowl.* “B****es and sons of b****es can get a drink now, but for everybody else, and for all food service, there’s nothing until ten.”
